Think About It Thursday - Women Allegory

Think About It Thursday will be a post that has something for you to think about and comment on. I like to hear what other people see and think. It has been interesting to me to have people comment on my paintings and see what they are thinking. Perry Family posted some great concepts in the comments a couple of days ago for the Boyfriend's painting. Today is your chance. I had some specific thoughts on this painting. But, other people who have seen it come up with entirely different things. Let me know what you think. This isn't a quiz so let 'er go.

sorry the image isn't good, i'll do better next time

Just a quick note, when I click on the "comment" link after every post and go back to your blog, it has become highlighted and changes color. The thing is, it changes to the same color as your background, then you can't even tell that there's a "comment" link to click on, but only after you've already clicked on it.

I know what you are talking about. I thought it was just my computer. I will try and figure it out. Thanks

Now for the allegory. I know allegories are supposed to be "deeper" and longer lasting than a metaphor, but I might just be all on the surface. Good thing that at least we know it has to do with women. Hmmm...pear, fruit, red, green hmmm... well here it goes, Pear=woman/womb Fruit=works/results Green=fresh/new/growing/good
Red=old/bad/wilted/scarred, geez really this could go on and on.
Interpretation: The green pear represents the ultimate woman: clean/pure, fruitful, good and the red pears represents many different woman, who by life/choices fall from the tree and become wilted and scarred. However, the progression towards the green pear could show each woman's stages/struggles to becoming the woman she is intended to be. Or maybe, the somehow it symbolozes the necessity of the fall to become the "green pear". Maybe you only had one yummy green pear and the rest were rotten. There you go, maybe nonesense, I don't know. Are comments even allowed to be this long?
Okay, one last thought that just cam e to me, maybe the green pear is "ripe", meaning ready for something. Maybe the red pears missed out. Okay, I'm done.

If you go to the customize tab, and then to layout and then to fonts and colors, just change the color for the "visited link". You probably already figured it out by the time you read this.

I am amazed at your thinking about this. Really. Thanks for sharing. And no, it's more than just having 1 green pear. Not that that hasn't happened in other paintings.

Wow, that is really intense, creative and deep. Could the painting have something to do with the meaning of colors. You know how red can mean passion and you could be green with envy? Just a thought. I know I looked at the painting and it looked like the red pears were looking towards the green one. I don't know why I see it that way but I do.

I like your thoughts. A thing or two I didn't think of. Great!

Its like the red pears are bad and mean to the green pear and the green pear is good.
